Since Game of Thrones finished, fans have been keenly waiting for the prequel, House of the Dragon to arrive on their screens. The HBO title tells the story of House Targaryen, and will star Matt Smith (The Crown, Doctor Who) and Paddy Considine (The Third Day, The Outside).
NVIZ was very pleased to get up close and personal with the dragons of the title, while working on Previs for a long battle sequence where they are first introduced.
Working originally from storyboards, the Previs was particularly useful for crafting alternative and dynamic camera moves that presented the swooping dragons at their most exhilarating. The use of Unreal Engine allowed for a depth of field and motion blur added to the overall effectiveness of the sequence.
NVIZ were delighted to once again enjoy an immersive and collaborative relationship with the overall VFX Supervisor, Angus Bickerton, and the team were led internally by Previs Supervisor, Faraz Hameed.
