The NVIZ VFX team were proud to be asked to contribute to Alex Garland’s existential sci-fi thriller.

Tasked with creating the gradual transformation of the character Radek, NVIZ tracked and remodelled her arms, torso and neck in CG, creating an underlying plant structure that flowed around muscle groups. This was then covered by skin stretched thinly over the new textures, preserving the essence of the plate photography.

In addition to this, NVIZ worked on 80 other shots, including some tricky clean-up work, blood removal and the addition of particles and dust.
